One of our clients is seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer to join their team. This position involves designing, programming, implementing, and commissioning automation and process control systems across a variety of industrial settings. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy solving complex control and instrumentation challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and program automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and DCS.
- Write and maintain control documentation: narratives, cause & effect matrices, and functional specs.
- Design control panels and instrumentation schematics, including P&IDs and wiring diagrams.
- Lead commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting for new installations and upgrades.
- Provide technical support and collaborate with engineers, technicians, and project managers.
- Conduct field work as needed and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.
- Mentor junior engineers or technicians on best practices and system design.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related discipline.
- Hands-on experience with industrial control systems and instrumentation.
- Proficiency in reading and developing technical documentation such as P&IDs and panel layouts.
- Familiarity with major PLC platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE).
- Strong understanding of control system integration, networking, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- EIT or PE license
- Programming experience with scripting or database tools (e.g., Python, SQL, JavaScript) preferred
- Familiarity with SCADA system configuration and deployment.
- Prior experience in industrial sectors such as power generation, data centers, utilities, or oil & gas.
