Position Summary

Royal Isabela LLC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cook to join our culinary team in our restaurant. The Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality food according to the restaurant’s recipes and standards, ensuring the kitchen is clean and organized, and adhering to all safety and hygiene regulations. This role requires constant collaboration with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation

  • Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and measuring items according to recipes or the chef’s instructions.
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards.

Cooking and Plating

  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications accurately.
  • Operate kitchen equipment (grills, fryers, ovens, etc.) safely and efficiently.
  • Plate dishes attractively and consistently for service.

Kitchen Organization & Cleanliness

  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times.
  • Sanitize food preparation areas and equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Dispose of waste and recycling properly.

Inventory & Stock Management

  • Monitor ingredient stock levels and notify the supervisor when supplies are low.
  • Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries following FIFO (First-In, First-Out) standards.
  • Label and date all food items properly.

Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Wear appropriate protective gear and maintain high standards of personal hygiene.
  • Report any food safety concerns or equipment malfunctions immediately.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members.
  • Communicate effectively regarding orders, timing, and food quality.
  • Assist in training new kitchen staff when needed.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of cooking experience, preferably in a hotel or restaurant environment.
  • Preferably knowledgeable in culinary techniques and kitchen equipment operation.
  • Preferably experienced in inventory management and food control.
