Position: Cybersecurity & Risk Management Specialist

Location: Remote

Duration: 12 Months contract position

Responsibilities
Monitor SIEM dashboards and proactively respond to security incidents.
Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate risks.
Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks such as NIST SP 800-171, FERPA, and other higher-ed standards.
Develop, maintain, and enforce security policies for data classification, access control, and endpoint protection.
Support IT risk assessments, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning.
Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience in SIEM monitoring, incident response, and security operations.
Hands-on expertise in vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and risk management.
Familiarity with NIST frameworks, FERPA, and higher education compliance requirements.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
